Confidentiality
We place a high degree of importance on trying to maintain confidentiality. We fully understand the need to provide enough information about an opportunity in order to build an interest with the prospective buyer. Consequently, we try to provide everything we can about the company with very careful consideration about not disclosing confidential information about it. We generally do not provide more information to prospective buyers other than than what is typically provided on the preliminary information page (typically a web page) until we have received a signed and dated Confidentiality Agreement from the prospective buyer. We prefer to boldly note that the Confidentiality Agreement is not written for the benefit of the buyer. The buyer is not the one disclosing confidential information. The seller is. The Confidentiality Agreement is not designed to protect the buyer for his/her loss of confidential information. If you are a prospective Seller, understand that we make a strong effort to maintain confidentiality. If you are a prospective buyer, then you should respect this effort to protect confidential information. After all, you might end up acquiring the company.
