Plumbing Contracting Company for sale
The company is a non-union commercial
plumbing contracting company serving the
Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. The company has
developed an excellent reputation among general
contractors and is a preferred vendor resulting in
the majority of it's contracts being negotiated
work (versus bid work). It has also developed an
excellent working relationship with suppliers
allowing for quick supply turnaround. Approximately
95% of the company's business is concentrated in new
commercial construction and tenant finish-out work,
consisting of shopping centers, theaters, churches,
office properties, etc. with very little
multi-story. The remaining 5% of the company's work
consists of industrial service, providing equipment
removal and process piping.
The owner of this plumbing company for sale does very
little marketing.
The majority of the it's work comes from general
contractors as it enjoys the benefit of repeat
business and referrals. It is a preferred vendor
for many of the general contractors, therefore,
the company "hard bids" and gets preferred
treatment. Only about 10% of it's new construction
work is design and build. This is by choice due to
it's volume of preferred bid work, as well as the
additional time generally required with design and
build work.
The company was founded in 1977 and was purchased
by the seller in 1992 with sales of approximately
$1.5 million. The seller changed the direction of
the company by getting out of residential and concentrating
on commercial work. The company subsequently moved
to a more central location between Dallas and Fort
Worth, and has experienced steady growth since.
Besides having a Master Plumbers License, it is also licensed for Medical Gas.
Description of Staff:
The
company has 35 non-union employees, which consists
of 7 lead plumbers and 23 backup plumbers and helpers
in the field, as well as 4 administrative staff;
a field superintendent, estimator / project manager,
office manager / controller, and general manager/owner.
The company has an experienced staff with an excellent
safety record, resulting in a Workers Comp Modifier
of .83.
